Masjid and Center Project ObjectivesDear Ottawa Muslims and SNMC Patrons,
As-salamu Alykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu.Al-hamdu Lillah site plan control application approved as of April 17, 2012, after 2 years one month. We first submitted on March 30, 2010 during the closing of the land deal with the city of Ottawa.
Insha’Allah, we hope to get the building permit to be approved by next few weeks. We hope to start the construction of the SNMC Center and Masjid, Insha’Allah before our June 2 Sunday 11am Site Free BBQ.
Al-hamdu Lillah last 5 years all of us donated $2.5 Million. For 3.2 acres prime land at 3020 Woodroffe Ave, SNMC Center and masjid design (with 750 prayer spots, 400 persons capacity 2 multipurpose halls with 2 kitchens, 8 class rooms), consultants and engineering design fees, we spent $1.5 Million.
SNMC has $1.0 Million to kick off the construction phase by 2nd June 2012. To complete the foundation, building structure, basement and roof and protect from harsh winter, SNNMC requires your help to raise another $950,000 in 2012.
Please donate:
one prayer spot $2,500 (nearly 600 donated, only 150 left) or donate one building block (one Sq meter of stone wall) $1,000 each, a total of 1,950 building blocks. This is a life time opportunity to build a community center and masjid for our families, kids, youths, sisters and seniors and get Ajar in our grave even after 500 years when our bones will become dust.
With salam,
Dr. Emdad Khan, SNMC President
