SNMC Blood Donor Clinic on July 5th
July 5, 2018
5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
There is enough blood on the shelves to meet patient needs today, but supplies need to increase before the summer months. We currently do not have enough appointments booked to ensure we can continue to meet patients’ needs this summer.
Summer is traditionally a difficult time for us to collect blood. With people away or busy with other activities, there tend to be fewer blood donations during the summer. But cancer patients, accident victims, and people with blood disorders rely on blood transfusions every day.
Since blood products have a limited shelf life, demand is constant.
Blood donations now will ensure the national supply meets demand and supports patients’ needs during the summer months.
- You never know when you or a friend will need blood.
More donors are needed now to meet patient needs. All donors are encouraged to get involved, in particular donors with Type O blood.
New donors are critical to meeting Canada’s future blood needs.
Encourage your family and friends to donate.
1 in 2 Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will at some point in their lives.
