Sisters Saturday Night Program – Mark the 4th Saturday 4 Your Sisters
When: 4th Saturday evening of each month
Where: SNMC Community Centre
The Sisters’ Saturday night program is a new program which has soared to new heights with the permission of Allah (SWT). The program is held on the 4th Saturday evening of each month. The objective is to provide a forum for sisters to socialize, relax and enjoy each others company. At the same time, we increase in Islamic knowledge and practice; form and strengthen ties and promote sisterhood and community. We provide a platform for sisters to contribute their unique talents, knowledge and expertise to the masjid and community. We encourage fresh ideas, new speakers, and new perspectives. So far, we have presented topics on how to parent the next Canadian Muslim generation, the role of the Muslim woman in society, heart disease in women and maintaining healthy lifestyle through exercise. We also have engaging activities such as nasheeds, poetry and Islamic quizzes.
From Barrhaven and beyond – participants come from all areas of the city totalling about 80 sisters in attendance per gathering. Alhamdullilah, we continue to receive very positive feedback about the quality, content and relevance of the program. We are eager for feedback to help us tailor the program to address “real life” topics and issues that are relevant, interesting and of benefit to sisters. We are working very hard to give sisters a wonderful evening and a fulfilling experience. By encouraging our Muslim sisters to take time out once a month to take charge of their learning, we strongly believe that with Allah’s permission, we will promote self-growth and strengthen our beloved Ummah and community at large.
